Who. The. Hell. Cares.

My Bronco will never see off road use.
Serious question then, and I really do not mean to offend. Your stuff do what you want, but if you will never see off road why then buy a Bronco? There are many cross-overs with the same on road attributes at a lot lower cost. No need for a robust frame or larger components. Why then spend the extra money?

No new sharper vehicle can be had for $30k
It's a convertible
It gets tremendous amount of attention.
Living in the snow belt, no vehicle with Lockers front and rear can be had for the price
It puts a smile on your face to drive
It's not a crossover
It's a Jack of all trades, master of none.

And seriously if I were to only own one off road vehicle, it would be a truck.

I’m a Harley rider, we are generally accused of being snobs towards anything else. Not always true HOWEVER even amongst Harley riders there is the same snobbery. The most childish crap I’ve ever seen.

This might be a bit of a hot take, but the Bronco is my idea of a practical vehicle.

I only drive vehicles I think are fun. The Bronco is fun.

When I see people compare it for commuting purposes to things like a Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V or Ford Explorer, I don't care. Those are boring.

The Bronco is as close as I get to driving something like that.

Yep. "Oh it's just a Sportster?"

It's really lame.

Bud, we got this saying here down South…. “Them hit dogs holler”.

Once you start trying to justify yourself, you have then become what they say you are. Why is that? Because know you’ve allowed “them” to take up real estate in your head; don’t do that, it’s not healthy.

Now, I am one for calling out a poseur and always have, but I’ll share with you why. My thing is simply, if you are going to invest all of that money and time trying to “look“ like me, how about try taking it a step further and actually be like me or whatever I’ve done that you thought was cool, or worth drawing inspiration from.

That’s not being arrogant. When I was younger, I happily will tell you that I looked up to older guys who were just cool. Their jackets, beards, ink, rides, rigs, nice looking ladies they were with, how they talked, the whole bit. See, we’re all trying to be like someone. I include my dad, uncles, grandads, friends dads, hell maybe even your dad. These MEN, set examples for me, now you to model after.

So, point is, none of us like this or any other off roader, or car just because of the vehicle. Hell, a Kia Stinger looks cool don’t it? Even got good reviews, but in the end, it’s a goddamn Kia. Sure, that’s funny and all, but the truth is, no cool guys that we’ve seen have ever driven a goddamn Kia.

What we all have seen is some cool ass guys driving around in a Bronco back in the day, or a Wrangler with some big ole tires, a Raptor, blasting metal, etc; them guys were cool as shit, because they JUST ARE!

What made them cool wasn’t a look, it was/is a lifestyle that matches the look or visa vis. Going wheeling is cool, camping can be cool, and so driving a rig with some big tires ”looks“ cool.

It’s only a mall crawler if that’s all you do because you’re soft. Nothing between you and wheeling or enjoying nature other than green grass and opportunity, so take your ass outside and do it. If you already do, then you’re not a mall crawler, but maybe a weekend warrior like many of us are.
I’m a whenever-I-can-be warrior, sometimes weekends, some times seasonally. I am hardcore hunter and outdoorsman at heart, but can’t do it near as much as I would like for several reasons. Loved fast cars my whole life, had several, and have fond memories of Broncos from when I was a kid. My dad always had 4x4’s, never a Bronco, but a few different brands. I respect others opinions, old school. That’s the main thing I hate about the ‘net. So many asses that make themselves better by puttin others down. You have said it better than me, good job.

I don’t like the name. But don’t really care. I didn’t buy it to destroy it. I take care of everything I own. OCD! If I wanted to do extreme off-road, I would build a vehicle specifically for it. I don’t feel the Bronco is for extreme off-roading.

Generally, for me, a mall crawler is a build focused on how it looks without regard to how it performs. Most often found is a large lift with 20" wheels without considering the suspension angles and the tires rub. Bumpers that look like they would collapse if someone blew on them wrong or with recovery points that make promises that they simply could never keep.
I don't think anyone is saying people don't deserve to own their bronco. It's just a way to categorize a build more than anything.

People who use the mall crawler “put down” are dumb. There is no rule that says it has to be off road all the time. If so they wouldn’t give it luxury features, right? SE FL the closest off road areas are hours away. Ours is a daily driver, and I bet my top and doors will be off more than other peoples. But I’m not gonna go around making fun of people not doing that.
To each there own. Ours will go off road some, but will be on pavement more often. If someone doesn’t like that, they can go complain to the wall to their right. Cause I.D.G.A.F!

When wondering what someone thinks, ask yourself would you even be friends with that person? The guys that bring up a 2dr every time they post, the guys that lose their mind over "tech" in their new 2022 vehicle, the ones that yap endlessly about a manual transmission. Probably not, they seem like high maintenance people.

Just enjoy it, it's an awesome car. It looks stunning in most any combination. It's plenty capable off-road. I enjoyed taking my family out to fish today and did some mudding while out there. I realize I'm not going to be doing the toughest of the tough trails though. But it can do the vast majority of stuff without destroying the vehicle.

For the folk who just want to keep it on pavement only, good on ya and enjoy. It's weird to gatekeep something like a car. Life is too short to get hung up on silly ideas.

Is it just me, or are many of you offended when the term “Mall Crawler” is used to describe your beloved ride? Just because I didn’t buy my Bronco to go hard core off reading ALL THE TIME and I choose to dress it up to make it my own, doesn’t make it a mall crawler. I bought it for may reasons. I always make all of my rides somewhat uniquely mine. Wheels, tires, exhaust etc. My ride may be a “Neighborhood Nuisance”, a “Drag Strip Diva”, or a ”Highway Hauler”, but it sure the hell isn’t a mall crawler.

I only get offended by people who take jeep habits and try to transfer them to broncos.

I’m offended by the OP’s typo of “off reading”.
