This is my first post on the forum. Have been using it like crazy to educate and ready myself for our new Bronco.

Was built Oct 21, 2021. Base Black Sasquatch with the 2.7. Soft top to get it now. Delivered Jan 3, 2022 to Iowa. Apparently it sat in a rail yard forever.

I loaded it on my trailer at the dealership so I could get mudflaps installed before driving on our gravel road. I load it up and immediately see a drip from the front differential. Assumed it was assembly lube and drove home. Got it in the shop at home, went out the next morning and had a puddle the size of a dollar bill.
Called the dealer and they said bring it back, we will get you a loaner.

So tonight I go to load it back on my trailer again, we have snow on the ground, so as I approached the trailer, I stopped, put into N and put into 4H. Go forward, and wonā€™t go up the ramp. Only the back wheels engaging. So I try 4L. Also, only the rear wheels engage.
So, this was the first time I tried 4x4 and will not engage. Has 242 miles. I drive 4x4s every day. Never seen this before.

Iā€™ll let everyone know what I find out. I saw some of the issues others have had, but with the leak, Iā€™m gonna let the dealer see what they can find.
Thanks for all the help on this forum! Awesome community!

Yeah, there is a T-case under there. Must not be hooked up somewhere though

You dont need to be in neutral, maybe that has something to do with it?

All my miles. Had not tried 4x4 yet due to the leak.
Dealer said to drive a few days and see if the leak stopped. It never stopped during the next 3 days, so I let it sit in the shop till I had a chance to get it back to the dealer, who is 1.5 hours away.

I do wonder how much leaked since it was sitting waiting on delivery. Ughhh

Just to clarify, I called the dealer the next morning after seeing the leak on the floor, and they said to drive it and see if it stops. So I did, and then 3 days later it hadnā€™t stopped , so I called and they said to bring it in. Just reread my original post and realized I had not clarified the timeline of those events very well lol.

Thanks for the replies.

Why are you putting it into neutral to switch to 4H?

When I buy a 4x4 I test out lo, hi and lockers, etc before leaving (actually before signing papers). Why would you not find dirt or grass and test drive it?

Seat of my pants guess is fancy sensor has detected low fluid in front diff and won't let it engage so no.go.boom.
Try putting fluid in and see if it clears.
Or full throttle launch with rear locker engaged. Please video if you go with that option.

So they actually told you to ā€œdrive it a couple days to see if leak stopsā€ lol wtf?? Must be a new TSB šŸ˜‚
Clearly this dealer doesnā€™t know the basics ā€” Fords are like helicopters. If they stop leaking it means thereā€™s no oil left.

Because that's overkill

You won't sign papers without tearing up Walmarts grass first? šŸ˜‚
