Mine is scheduled to be built next week. I was on the fence about auto vs 7MT, but since the only other MT vehicle that I have owned in the last 30 years is a 66 Bronco with a manual, I went MT. Less up front cost, some really cool tech, ease of use, all weighed in the decision. The rave reviews of owners (with and without noise) helped ease my mind.

yeah because there's definitely no loose bolts in those 10speed autos... wait...
Yeah anyone acting like the 10 speed is really that good either hasn't owned one, has never had a good auto, or is in some way mentally deficient or just numb.... the ZF 8 is a good auto... ford's 10 speed is garbage in comparison... hate to say it... not thrilled about the noisy manuals but I'll take the risk.

Itā€™s a lot of money to spend when itā€™s quite possible youā€™ll end up with a trans that makes your vehicle sound like a piece of junk, embarrassing for a new vehicle.Wait to see if ford wants to invest their resources to fix it properly first

Or, listen to those of us who actually have one....
Buy one, don't buy one, it doesn't matter to me. I'm like the vast majority and out having fun almost every day with mine. If that doesn't interest you, that's fine with me.

Yes and I don't have any issues with it. I've off-roaded with the 7MT and the 10A with the 2.7 and I personally prefer the level of control I have with the 7MT over a computer thinking it knows when I want to shift ā€“ it never does.

Have the noise, no regrets. Would order it the exact same way all over again.

Yeah, it makes a little extra music.

But itā€™s under warranty.

And who knows if Iā€™ll even keep it for three years?

Of course, Iā€™m into classic European cars as well, so I guess Iā€™m a ā€œno pain, no gainā€ kind of driver.

Just do it.

Passed on my original order that came in December because I enjoy the 7MT so much. 20 months and 21k miles. No noise.

Iā€™ve driven the auto on and off road. I didnā€™t like it.

Manual was one of my main drivers behind getting my Bronco. No noise, wouldn't trade it for anything. After 11 months I still smile everytime I get to drive it everyday.
I agree 100%, will not own an automatic, too much joy out of having total control. Bought it two weeks ago, having read all the horror stories from those who have the "noise" issue, I would not let it dissuade me from purchasing it, maybe waiting two years clouded my better judgement, but I'm completely happy. I do not yet have it, expecting it will pop up.

No noise. 7000 miles at almost a year. I wouldnā€™t have gotten a Bronco, unless it was manual shift. But Iā€™m very old school.

If your buying decisions are based on what might go wrong, you should probably be buying a Toyota and not a Ford.
