Three one Bee pound.

I want a simple NA V8 like the F150, a ~325hp V8 with the 7MT sounds amazing, that'd totally make my Badlands, but it'd compete with the 2.7 and the Ecoboosts are Ford's current babies. GM's LSx and LTx engines are outstanding, sure its pushrod vs. OHC but who cares, I gotta think an "underpowered" Coyote would be amazing.

I want a simple SOHC V8 that's overbuilt and would last forever, think the 4Runner 4.0, I really like the 2.3 but wouldn't hate a little more simplicity after owning two other turbo-4s. It'd doesn't need 500hp and doesn't need some ridiculous transmission to justify whatever exorbitant price that'd garner, give me a normal-ass BOF SUV with a manual, V8, and cool stuff.

You know, the Bronco with a debored 'yote.

Should’ve gone with the upgrade to the 2.7 engine

Exactly! No further comments are needed. A loping V8 in a Bronco is perfection.

if your poll requires people to learn hieroglyphics then it prob needs a re-think

:p
Oh... no doubt. I tried 5-6 different ways to come up with this poll... and somehow... this was the best option I could dream up. Admittedly I'm asking this forum's polling software to do more than it was meant to do.

Probably should of moved it to Google Sheets or something. 🤷‍♂️

Could have easily been simplified:

A) I'm happy with the 4 banger
B) I'll take the Coyote for $3000 Alex
C) Shove the Hellcat engine in there, I don't care what it costs.

While I'd love to have even just a Coyote V8 for a $3-10000 upcharge, having a simple straight diesel with a manual would be fantastic ie Cummins 6BT. It would never happen with todays emissions standards and consumer habits unfortunately.

I would take a 7.3L V8 in a Bronco, I might even opt for the auto transmission to get it. The modular motors seem too wide for the smallish engine bay, the 7.3L could fit maybe. The inline 6 option (still needs a turbo) would be great too. In reality this is just mental mastrubation, as Ford is pushing the small displacement turbos for basically all consumer oriented vehicles in the name of CAFE standards.

Maybe 10 years from now I’ll be able to do an LS swap into this Bronco and keep the manual trans.

Having a 2-door V8 would make all those Raptor owners insanely jealous. - Especially if it prices out for less than their 4-door (only) option (you know, except for those who love the 4-door). That being said, the 2.7 is really enough engine for me. I'm getting less than 14 MPG at this point and that's about all I can justify now.

I can't imagine the Coyote would be more expensive then the twin turbo V6 (though Ford would charge more) and have worse gas mileage. I would easily take a V8 over my V6 if it were about the same price and I could have the same configuration.

Where is the "bolt two 3.5L V6's together to make a quad turbo V12" option?
I'm okay with not having the wireless charging pad in the center console to make it happen

Guess I'm too old. Not for a V8 Bronco, I've had several, but for polls like this ;)

@RagnarKon

Price

1. Price is largely irrelevant, I just want a V8
2. I would buy a V8 if it was within $10,000 of the 2.7L engine.
3. I would buy a V8 if it was within $3000 of the 2.7L engine (similar to F-150)

My Answer: Price is not irrelevant I like not to buy a second house. Complicated answer, I'd pay 10k more if it was extremely powerful, but pay 3k more if it was a little powerful as the 2.7.

Performance

I. Performance is irrelevant
II. I would only buy a V8 if it performed better than the 2.7L engine

My answer: Only if it is as good or better as the 2.7L.
Engine Setup

A. I would be willing to buy a V8 even if it was equipped with a turbo or supercharger
B. I would only buy a V8 if it was naturally aspirated

I would want it to have a turbo or supercharger. Don't really mind if it's na either.

Configuration

#. I would be willing to switch my trim or number of doors if it meant I could buy a V8
@. I would only buy a V8 if I could get it on my desired trim and door configuration

My answer: I would really want 2 door but would settle for 4 door.

Alright... results of my overly complicated poll for those who care:

The only thing that really surprised me was the second graph. Roughly half of those who responded would take a V8 even if it performs worse than the 2.7L V6.
