Doesn't the BD and Badlands come with plates covering the gas tank? As many times as I've looked underneath these things I e never looked past the front lol.

They our company delivery trucks not long ago. They used a hole saw on these. The pricks dumped more than they got. We had a spill of at least 50 gallons (diesel) to deal with.

Most modern vehicles have an anti-siphon feature in the filler neck. Not as easy as it used to be to siphon. Plus when they drill they are pretty much out of sight.

Holy s$@! we've gotten to this level? I haven't heard anything about this, but I also don't read or watch the news too much. Sorry it happened to you guys.

Since it's really the side you are looking to protect, I'm just not sure how much aftermarket skids are going to prioritize that since they also want them to be light and would prioritize just the bottom. Hopefully someone who knows more will chime in.
they been doing that in ca for years my cousin had his truck gas tank drilled out about 9 years ago at a park and ride he just put a bolt with a rubber washer and it held for years .

Kinda like mail box baseball? Fill one with concrete and put it on the oncoming traffic side. Wait a week and inspect for dents and see if there's window glass laying on the ground below. No more smashed mail boxes.

Well, this is going to get worse before it gets better. This is definitely going to start ending badly when people get tired of their belongings getting destroyed and there is no accountability for it.

Your callous disregard for life is concerning. Property is not worth shooting someone over.
Speak for yourself. You have the balls to steal someone's hard-earned goods, then you should deal with the consequences!

One solution is to drive a car with a small fuel tank. Thieves are not going to waste their time for a few gallons.

Good point; I believe "less likely to get yo tank drilled" is, in fact, an add to the Team 2-door pros vs 4 door cons

What if, maybe, people are just doing this to vandalize and not actually steal the fuel.

Drill and run! I just can't imagine someone waiting for a gas can to fill... but then again, I can't see why someone would want to vandalize a vehicle by drilling a hole in a tank, slicing a tire, breaking a window.

Guess I'm just not wired that way.
