Really? 6 pages on MPG? This is almost as crazy as the thread about carpet helping with road noise. Are you sure you’re in the market for the right vehicle?

If you’re that worried about MPG buy one of these.

I’m in it for top off 4WD fun. That’s worth every penny I pay in gas!
What color is that? That doesnt look like the signature headlights?

Just another data point..

My 2018 4X2 F-150 with 2.7EB and A10 with 33's and 3.73 weighs about 4,300 lbs and gets ~20mpg mixed according to onboard puter..

80% city and 20% freeway mix and I drive it like I stole it because 2.7!

I could get a bit more if I wanted but that would be boring

isnt the weight so high on the bronco that going to a lower engine might actually increase milage?

its why the wrangler sucks so much , underpowered
You see, I don't understand this. My '19 JL did an average 25.6 mpg's on a 5200 mile trip out west last year. That was with quite a bit of back roads in NM. It will average right at 19 around town, and that much aligned 3.6 will pull it across anything I put in front of it. I will be greatly surprised if the Bronco can get anywhere close to the mpg's my JL gets, and if it does mores the better.

Your JL also has 3.45 gears. The lowest available gearset in a Bronco is 3.73. That will affect the mileage.

Sweet Jesus you must have won the Jeep lottery to pull those kind of numbers!!

Seriously, I'm in awe...

Unless I drive like a asshole or the 5 speed auto in the JKs aren't enough but I've only cracked 20mpg one time in my 3.6L JK, and that was a scenic 300 mile trip through mostly rural highways going 50-60. The rest of the time its 12 in the winter 15 in the summer, that is about 90% around town miles though.

Never sell that Jeep, you have the great white Buffalo. Toledo must have been on their A game that day.

The lower trims will probably get low 20’s on the highway. Badlands and squatch will probably get 18-20.

So if you are going with the manual and driving mostly highway, but can't decide between the Big Ben with the 4.46 or the Badlands with the 4.7, would there be much of a mileage difference?

Ford Bronco Let's do the MPG math B17DB93C-C70A-4AF2-A1D0-C90EBC54E9A7

Can anyone do reverse math on this? 96 miles til empty on a 2DR with 1/4 left in a 16.9 gallon tank. What is that? Like 22ish MPG?

bad math by me.

I can't help but think they could have used that whole square for the speed in a much more efficient way. They already have the analog gauge, why are they using 30-40% of the screen for the same info? Ugh.

Might need some more numbers to math this one out.

If it is exactly 25% of a tank; 22.7 MPG, however if it is 24% of a tank; 23.7 MPG, 27% of a tank; 21.0 MPG. Point is that a fuel gauge is not linear most of the time due to the shape of the tank and even if the gauge was perfect, even a tiny 1 to 3% error reading it makes a huge difference. I can't tell the difference of 1% on a vehicle fuel gauge. So much error creeps in with your estimate and is compounded by assuming the miles to empty is calculated perfectly by the computer, which assumes the tank sensor is a precision device that measures to a very high degree of accuracy. Any numbers generated by using the miles to empty and estimates of fuel remaining from an automotive fuel gauge are worthless, at a very rough estimate, plus or minus 10 percent would darn near be a miracle. So a swing of maybe 4MPG.

I had both a JKU and a JLU and can say the JL did much better. The 8 sod is well suited to the 3.6 and there were a few aerodynamic improvements as well. I could regularly pull 25 on the highway, then again I live in flat Florida, but it is possible. I think the best I ever did in my JK was a little over 21.

Only reason to be concerned about MPG is range. This thread reminds me of the old adage "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it"...
