The Q&A says four and six piece between non-modular and modular. That was from a ford guy. Where is the breakdown confirmed (I’m genuinely curious)?

JK
Yes, 4 and 6 piece for the 4-door; 3 and 6 piece for the 2-door.

Confirmed by a Ford guy on here, before the ride-along Q&A double-confirmed it.

I have to say I do not like the use of a different kind of gloss black plastic or whatever material for modular top in black.

I much prefer the molded rubber/plastic version that is on all the outside trim/bumpers, etc...on the the rest of the car.

the upgrade is black but it's not the same material. it's too fancy....The non upgraded grey is the same material that you can armor all. I want that in black.

not frikken piano gloss black.....that will not age the same if not at all as the outside trim..not to mention scratch easier when removed

dumb

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I was going to get the 4-door black diamond in carbonized gray and didn't see a black hard top available on it. I really don't want carbonized gray on carbonized gray.

Does anyone know the dimensions of Fords standard rack/rails on the roof, or roof dimensions, length and width please, of the 2-door? Looking for RTT...

I think you can get the black-painted modular top on it but only if you get dual tops.

Otherwise I think you're stuck with the gray. Things could obviously change once we get the Build & Price.

At the moment dual tops aren't available for the Base Trim. If i go up to the Big Bend i could, but I am a little unsure of having a soft top full time. The weather is fickle in Florida.
You would be spending more money for Automatic with Big Bend as the its Manual Standard on 4 Door if you are going that direction and then pay for the Dual Tops. But if its 2 Door then it makes sense to go to Big Bend.

Seems strange that it isn't listed as an option, even with dual tops.

Looks like they offer it on the Badlands.

Have to agree with @BroncoKong Jr. and wait for B&P to know for sure.

Yeah, and if you want the body color painted modular top (on the Badlands) it looks like it's only available as part of a dual top option. Sure hope that's not the case.

all I know is the gray modular top is a no go for me on any color so whatever it takes to get around that configuration. I can understand some of it, but the tops are independent of each other and should be ala carte from the parts bin during assembly, its not adding labor cost.

I agree on the MIC. I hope Ford allows Hard Top selections a la carte (to include white modular top). There is no reason to tie the tops into specific models and the a la carte Top selection is an easy money maker for Ford. Please, have a little foresight on this and don’t just cave to the Logistics Manager on “complexing issues” (and that’s coming from a Logistics Manager.)
