Who else has almost ran out of gas ⛽?

I can hear my dad yelling at me “don’t run below a quarter tank! The dirt on the bottom of the tank will get into the engine!”. Still, I once squeezed 400 miles out of a tank in my old guzzler Jeep Liberty. I swear there couldn’t have been more than an ounce of gas left…

Here we thought the new bronco had fuel pump defects, nope just new car poor people pushing the limits before every fill up. Now I will say my 16 mustang gt I actually did take to 0 miles in preparation for its dyno tune and I lost about 10 pounds in sweat by the time I was at the pumps.

I typically only fill up when it gets below 5. I have pulled into gas stations several times on 1's and once on 0. Drives my wifes nuts. Not my Bronco but my F150:

Holy cow! I get nervous when mine gets below half I think I may have had it down to 1/4th once. But at least it’s cheaper to fill up that way.

My last Ford would run out of fuel with the needle on 1/4 tank, being able to actually run a Ford to empty is such a novelty to me

Isn't the fuel pump cooled by fuel,if so that could lead to premature failure.

I'm not going to treat my Bronco like I treat the work van. 1/4 tank is pretty much my lower limit.

I take mine down to 2 miles every tank

I ran mine down to zero miles to empty and it took about one gallon less than the total fuel capacity. So I think you can still go about 20 miles when it starts saying zero.

Not that I would do that, but you're not going to be coasting to the side of the road right when it says 0 Mi to E.

I used to drive like that with a Dodge Duranngo I had back in the early 2000's, and went through two fuel pumps. I try to fill back up at a 1/4 tank to reduce the strain on the fuel pump.
