Went to a local dealer yesterday for an oil change and 5-tire rotation. All that went well.

I mentioned the TSB on the tranny scraping/noise and showed it to the service guy. He made a call on parts availability. He said they are not shipping/releasing those parts at this time. I didn't ask for details. So does this mean Ford is working on upgrading parts, and will ship when they have a working solution??? That was my first speculation.

Service guy said I had a long ways to go on my extended warranty, said to keep checking back, can make an appt to have it looked at/repaired at a later date, when parts are available.

I was good with all this, wasn't excited about taking apart my transmission for something that isn't a solution yet anyways.

The noise I'm having is minor compared to others here. Most of the time I start it and let it warm up for a few minutes (still cold here in MN), listening to the noise. On rare occasions it won't make the noise. If I let the stick be in neutral after starting it, warming up for a few minutes, with the noise, heading down the road I'll still hear the noise in first and second. Can't tell after that because of road noise.

After starting it, I've learned to move the stick towards 6th, sometimes the stick will sit in that position by itself, there is no noise. After a few minutes in that position, I'll move it back to neutral, no noise. Head down the road and no noise in first and second. At least I don't have to listen to the noise, or am I hurting something by letting the stick wedge towards 6th like that (never depressing the clutch pedal)?

Edit: I'm currently at 17,550 miles. Have no idea when the noise started or when I started hearing it.
MN owner here too, 18,500 miles roughly and have had the noise since day one. Got it in November of 21 and other than the noise I have no issues with the tranny and clutch.

I started a case with ford, so hopefully ill at least get a time frame or something soon.
I'm curious to know how you started your case with Ford? Was it created through a Ford reply to one of your posts here? Asking for your VIN and dealer info?

Nobody is usually privy to that kind of information (parts changes) until everything is done, and Ford releases an updated TSB or similar field action. Even techs in the field are generally kept in the dark (sometimes they will give some hints like "a change is coming"). All signs appear that some change is coming...they may find it much easier to update the trannies they have on hand, then start an exchange program, which would save alot of downtime at the dealership for all of us. That's what I am hoping for, and I think is "best case scenario". Either way the changes are always kept behind the scenes till they have figured out exactly how they want it handled

Dropped my Bronco yesterday afternoon...after a rare (for Savannah) overnight cold soak the trans tech verified the noise. He's researching whether Ford want to apply the TSB or replace the transmission. Picking it up today and whatever happens, I'll have my rig for turkey season then get it repaired this summer.
I still love my Bronco and wouldn't trade it for anything on the road!!

So are they doing anything special for you other than maybe contacting your dealership and occasionally checking in with you? I’m curious because a case was created for me but came through this forum.

I decided a little while ago I want to put an order in on march 27th and was lamenting the supposed delay til at least Q3 for any new manuals being scheduled. Then I stumbled on this grinding issue and how prevalent its been(I havent scoped out the forum since back in '21). I test drove two used ones recently and didn't notice it at all, but i wasnt really listening for it. It was around 40*F when i test drove those two.

Im hoping with the delay on building more manual Broncos and the fact that the TSB items seem to be on backorder and unavailable now after the 3-4 revisions that its a good sign. Hoping new builds have a newer transmission with a fix and this delay on new ones allows the suppliers to produce a bunch they can also use as replacements for everyone with issues.

Thats just me trying to be hopeful for my own order im putting in. The thought of dropping $37k on a brand new Bronco thats destined for transmission noises is a bit sickening to me.

I spoke with engineering again today. I cannot comment on much, however everyone, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you have this noise, see your dealer and have them submit a TAC request. I don't care if it's just a noise and doesn't effect driving. They need these documented to push the case to ford to escalate the repair. SEE YOUR DEALER!! TODAY!

They dont do anything special, but they called the service advisor and parts department. They have it set up to text me when any status change on parts and they said they bumped up the priority level for my part. Idk if they really will do much, but my dealer doesnt answer my calls and never updates me. At least now i will get updates and i have a contact person to ask questions. Unfortunately they told me no ETA for my parts, so i guess nothing has been accomplished in the last 10 weeks my car has been at the dealer.

What's that? If you're already waiting for TSB parts will the dealer submit it themselves?

Technical Assisance Center. Yes, even if they have parts ordered, have them escalate a hotline request.

Thanks for updating this. Yeah the part number/ Rev level has not changed. Need to do some digging on how to read the date. I thought I was sure but now I have confused myself lol

Unfortunately it seems some dealerships don't really want to get involved. I had to try 2, and I used to be a dealer tech...I think I kinda speak the language. 1st dealer I talked to I really have no proof that an RO was ever written (and that's my selling dealer!). We can lead this horse to water...but we can't make him drink!

When I asked my Customer Care Specialist "how will I know if the transmission I'm getting is going to be a good or a bad one?" They said.. "Oh we wouldn't put in a bad transmission.".........still speechless
