funny

if I can, I always tilt towards the drain hole.

Random question….

On a DYI oil change….if you needed to “tilt” the Bronco to better drain out the very last drop of oil….

Do we need to raise the rear and have it tilting down toward the front….

Or raise the front and have it tilting down toward the rear?

Magnets in general are brittle and do not hold together all that well if dropped, which may have happened when yours was shipped? Hoping mine was not cracked and that I just didn't notice.

The pan is supposed to be naturally tilted slightly toward the drain well when the vehicle is level, but Ford may have missed the boat on that. When angled in any direction off level, oil may flow better downwards from some areas but not others.

I got 7 out yesterday, put 7 back in....

Question:

Are ya'll checking your oil level when the engine is cold?

or just after running it up to temp?

or running it up to temp, letting it sit 20 min or so, and then checking it?

Just not sure what is SUPPOSED to be most accurate?

These horror stories about Ford missing the basics, like what is the oil capacity, does the pan drain correctly, etc, are likely due to engineers working from home and not understanding their components.

Elon has the right idea. Go back to the office or go work somewhere else.

We had powertrain done long before Covid occurred, before even we had a working cab to put on the frame. Work from home wasn’t established then. The only things really left when Covid did come was crash testing and production tooling trials/systems verification. We are now inundated with people only wanting to work from home

I dumped my oil at about 500 (despite the myths out there about the Bronco having break-in oil), and got about 6.7 out...which makes sense if it was filled with 7 from the factory because the saturated filter elements holds nearly 3 ounces (many folks don't calculate that into the equation). I swapped out my drain plug for a better one while I was at it to make my next change easier.
Exactly what I got.

LOL!

please don't take comments on this forum as truth.

Most of the crap here are just opinions not based on facts

I bet the engine only requires 4 quarts and 2 are on reserve, this is why we get longer intervals between oil changes, we use way more oil than necessary, it's not because of better oil or better engineered engines.
Your engine uses an oil pump to lube the engine, nothing is dipped in an oil bath in your motor, in fact if you run too much oil the crank will dip in and whip your oil to cause lower oil pressure.
That being said, use the recommended amount of oil

Going to pick one up today.
That's the existing part number? I figured if it was updated it would end in C (A for 2.3 and B for 2.7) granted that doesn't mean anything since they could be phasing out the old one if this was truly retooled for 2022 Job 2.

If it is in fact different, then the engineering number stamped on it will have moved a letter from FT4E-6750-BF to FT4E-6750-BG

I ordered 4 on 5/25 and still haven't seen them. Not sure why but it showed 60+ at the national depot at the time. I'll give it a few more days but stuff has really been delayed for some reason. If they're the new style, I'll try to bag another another 20 or so.
