What would I be losing by switching from 2.7 to 2.3 motor?

Solid question with (as you can see) a variety of answers. I have the 2.7L and have zero complaints so far. I never drove a 2.3L so really can't say if it lacks for power or not.

Oh one thing about the 2.3 that I donā€™t love: direct inject only = carbon build up
Oil catch can. I put one in my Bronco Sport 1.5L. It's doing it's job, 6k miles and have filled it twice.

you can do a hidden winch with a 2.3 šŸ¤Ŗ . I would go 2.3 route + FPT with a 2 door.

Need a little help
I have 2022 outerbank on order with 2.7 Motor
What would I be losing if switch to 2.3 motor
I drove from TN to CA with a 2.3l and was plenty satisfied. I have heard that 2.3 is pretty wimpy above 10K feet in altitude. Drove through the Rockies and did not notice any loss of power.

Might just be me, but my 2.3L sounds like a turbo diesel as it spools up. Sounds just like a truck. It doesn't sound anywhere near my 2.0 turbo ND miata. Both pulls amazing although my miata is 280 hp at the wheels at about 2500 lbs. So it flies quicker. I really don't much difference between 2.3 and 2.7 in real world application for an avg joe who trails on the weekend. You can't go wrong with either one. I just wanted to save me 1800 bucks, and apparently a piece of mind from detonation haha.

Less anxiety? I'd think about having installing an Oil Catch Can. I kinda wish I had picked the 2.3L Ecoboost.
