Why is ford recommending that we over inflate our tires.

Been running them at 20 off road. But will try 32
Off road, take em down to 12-15 as long as you’re not going fast or hitting objects hard you won’t (or shouldn’t) bust a bead. High 20’s low 30’s on the street

Tire size has a big impact on inflation presure as does temp. My cold inflation on the factory Goodyears is 29 front and 25 rear. That make the hot temp about 33 & 29. It completely sucks that Ford has put the low tire light at 30 psi. That might be fine for the smaller tire sizes but it is just crazy over inflated for the 315/70/17 size.

I would fix it in Forescan but don’t own a windows computer.

That’s nothing. Mavericks came in with about 45psi. Like riding Flintstone style.

It takes no computing horsepower to speak of, a $50 used laptop will be sufficient. I have an old one that's dedicated to just Forscan.

Unless Ford comes out and says they mislabeled the Bronco (honestly this isn't something that would surprise me) i'll go off the recommended rating. Only time I would deviate is if i'm running a drastically different tire from OEM.

what's the actual load index for the 315 tire?

(i'd look at mine, but it's not scheduled to be built for another month)

if its 110, load capacity per tire is: 1995
and for 113, 2145
at 40 psi (according to my old handy dandy discount tire chart for C range tires).

since the published weigh on the forward axle is ~ 2800 # (or 1400#/tire)
39 psi is definitely just a wee bit above ;)

I run a Windows VM on my 10 year old Mac laptop just for Forscan. Unless he's bougie with a new ARM Mac any Intel Mac can easily run Windows too.

If you would simply reset the TPMS after installing the winter treads (assuming they have sensors mounted) then you would get no warnings. Tell the vehicle that 30 is correct. Or 39 or 45. Your vehicle does not know what the attached sticker says, it only knows what it was last set at.
Idk about that. Both sets have sensors and automatically train after a few miles without issue.

I ran the snow tires at 35/36 for awhile, dropper to 30 and the light came on within 10 Miles and the screen in red showing all tires between 29/30 psi.

Sure seems like there is a preset minimum psi the computer wants to see and if it goes below that it triggers the warning.

On the inflation note… is everyone’s tire pressure reading in the dash accurate with the actual pressure in the tires?

My dash reads about 5 psi higher than the actual tire.
that's a bold claim...I always inflate to a number and then put a gauge on it. It's usually pretty close. Even going to Discount and asking them to air up my dash always shows what I asked them to put in it. If you're off by 5 psi you have issues my friend and need to look into that, that's not normal and shouldn't be accepted.

I think that everyone is glossing over the real issue at hand....you're going to get the best MPG and tire tread life if you let the dealer do the 100% Nitrogen. If you didn't pay for the Nitrogen upcharge and aren't running 100% N2 then you're doing it wrong.

There most certainly is a value in the computer (I don't recall which module off hand) and it's fairly high. I lowered mine in Forscan to trigger at 28 psi.

Was planning on installing a nitrogen molecular sieve membrane to my ARB for just this purpose
