Update for ya’ll…got my Bronco back last week. Check out the photos of the new engine date. The Oil spout is much lower than the original and the sticker is black and to the side making it a little harder to get a picture for everyone. It is an AB and built in 22’.

So finally got to see my replacement engine - still not IN the car, just in the crate and it has the same black label, AB and Bronco MY21 mention.

Did they estimate installation time once they start? My dealer is being very flighty on his answer.

About a week is all I have gotten. Together with "its the first Bronco engine, so we want to go slow and careful" ....I am assuming at least two weeks assuming no additional parts needed.

Have a Bronco fe with the attached sticker. Seems to me two others on that day have failed. I read the last 30 or so pages but cant find a good suggestio . Is there anything I should be doing to prevent a problem or just bend over and wait. Perhaps sell the vehicle or trade it? After going through the long dirt mountain process and then a 4 month airbag recall sitting at the dealer I'm not sure I want to sit around and wait for an engine replacement. I have about 600 miles on her now and seems fine, but I guess it's way too early....

I'd say it's too early to get rid of it yet, especially if you love it. @Lucchese and @VictoryLights have compiled a lot of good information but there's alot we still don't know. There's a whole lot of us that are waiting for bad news, a lot that haven't had any issues at all. Until Ford comes out with a statement we don't know how extensive the issue is.

Notes:
- in October a Ford Lima employee (@Jay3630, deleted soon after) made five posts re 'bad batch of brittle valves' - 'April batch' - see posts #1, #2, #3, #4, #5
- if the failures are caused by 'bad valves', maybe that 'April batch' has been working its way thru the system - then the problems could subside ?
- late October a Ford Service Technician wrote a post re nationwide frequency of failures - he said 'about thirty in the last month . . recorded in the Ford Technicians Forum page'

January '22 - Lima Plant Newsletter - § Quality, page-1
-- 'Nano valve supplier issue was resolved with more robust design and material changes at the supplier.'
Just under 2000 miles, had a hiccup but all seems good now. I'm in that 24 day clear window...so far. But need to get some miles on it.

If I could sell without taking any amount less than what I paid, I would. The odds of these motors lasting a regular lifetime don't seem good to me, and the replacement times are going to be long given the supply issues.

But the major resellers like Carmax and Carvana aren't offering jack squat at this point, so what can you do?

Mine had estimated about a week. They pulled the failed engine yesterday (Tuesday) and started work on the new one. Fuel pump arrived today. Word is they are hoping to be done on Friday barring any hiccups.

Same Julian date 😉. Almost 12,000 miles on mine at this point. 🤞. Still concerned and really appreciate the work @Lucchese and @VictoryLights are doing as well.

That's the $64,000 question, eh? If Ford believed a shit-ton of these 2.7s wouldn't outlive the powertrain warranty, wouldn't it be in their interest to issue a recall?
